Editing Guidelines
This resource is designed to be encyclopedic in content, and articles must be neutral in viewpoint. It is not for art, literature or opinion. All articles should contain content that is verifiable. Hyperlinks and references to printed material are helpful and welcome.
Be bold. Be also aware that others will come along and edit and improve your text.
General Editing
The most common editing tasks are done in the edit window. To enter the edit window, click the edit tab at the top of an article window.
- Deleting text: Highlight the text to be deleted and press your delete key
- Adding text: Put your cursor in the place where you want to add the text, and then key it in
- Saving: We recommend clicking the "show preview" button before saving to make sure all is as you wish. We also recommend that you add a short description of what you have done and checking the "minor edit" box, if that is appropriate.
- Making text bold or italic: Highlight the text to format and then click the "B" or "i" buttons in the icon bar at the top of the edit box. Alternatively, you can put three ' marks around the text for bold and two for italics.
- Adding a link to another wiki page: highlight the text to interlink, and press the Ab button in the icon bar at the top of the edit box. The text should be exactly the same as the other page name. For example Hunting links to a page on this wiki.
- Adding a link to a page outside this wiki: highlight the text to hyperlink, and press the globe button in the icon bar at the top of the edit box. Brackets will appear around the text. Place the hyperlink in front of the text and separate with a space.
This wiki uses the same software (WikiMedia) as does Wikipedia. You can find a LOT more information about editing from WikiPedia
